About
As I grew as an artist I realized that the most important part of being an artist; is to create with intention free of ego and pretension. My work as a whole lacks cohesion because I wouldn’t be arrogant to see myself as a master of any one medium and style. I want to tell stories however I feel. My inspirations come from Raphael to Norman Rockwell to Kehinde Wiley to Angela Bassett to Jack Kirby (and so on and so forth).
I’m a child of the apex of media consumption in the 90’s and through all that consumption I gained a yearning to storyteller with art. As art critic Dr. Denis Dutton surmised in his book The Art Instinct; Art is not defined by how (or even who) made it, but instead by how well it has meet it’s “use” in engaging the human species. My goal in everything I create is to invite engagement from the person consuming it.
